Enthusiasts & General Info

General Info

Please note - this is a message for enthusiasts that visit Durham Tees Valley Airport (MME / EGNV), and any person(s) visiting DTVA regularly

After a long slog, and a lot of hard work particularly from Colin Granton, Durham Police are now ready to issue the 'Durham Tees Valley Aviation Watch' ID cards.
Anyone wanting an Enthusiast ID card, please send an email to idcards@ntlworld.com

Once your email has been received, a covering letter and the application form will be send by return.
Please note that these cards are for ID purposes only and confer no special rights of way at any airfield. They can be used at other airfields as a means of ID which can be checked by Police/Security simply by phoning Durham Police at DTVA who will hold the applications on file.

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS SCHEME - THANK YOU

The closing date was officially 5th March 2010, any late comers should be able to contact the police at the airport for more information.

The Wings bar inside the (ex Disley and ex Cleveland) Flying School has been taken over by new owners, who are keen to develop the business, the bar is now open to all. Anyone visiting to spot or watch aircraft can pop in, and will be made welcome. The beer garden can be used to sit outside during fine weather, there are views over the eastern side of the airport and the runway from there, and also from inside. It would be courteous to buy the odd drink, and the food is very reasonably priced.

Directions:- head to Spot 4 (outside Hangar 3 East) there is car parking available, go into the flying school and turn right into the bar area.
